San Francisco Castro
The Castro district can be
classified as the Gay district of San Francisco, as it is full of shops,
cafes, restaurants and bars that cater to a predominately Gay clientele.
However, the district is evolving from an area that at one time would be
considered strictly Gay, to just a really great district for anybody. It’s
clean, attractive, safe and full of the type of features that would also
appeal to single professionals and young families. Gay establishment can
be identified by those displaying the Gay Pride Flag, that is the rainbow
flag at the front of their businesses.
If you are a Luxury
Traveler, you might find some excellent dining spots here, but the area
would also hold appeal for the Bohemian Traveler.
