San Francisco Chinatown
San Francisco’s Chinatown
could be the most charming and interesting of it’s kind outside
of…well…China. Loads of great restaurants and other sorts of eating
spots, great shops selling upscale and not so upscale Chinese items.
Fashion items, decorative items for the home, jewelry, household goods and
funny little toys, books, and textiles. These are only a few of the
fabulous finds in Chinatown.
Architecture of so many of
the old buildings are pagoda like with golden dragons on street lamps,
tile roof treatments and traditional lanterns strung across the main
streets.
Chinatown is a happy place
for all types of travelers. Bohemians would be happy here. The value
traveler would find joy in the inexpensive souvenir items, cheap but good
dining and families of all sorts should absolutely make a visit. If
you’re a luxury traveler, you might enjoy searching for and eventually
buying some fine jade jewelry items, silks and even Tahitian pearls.
